Families from Waterbeach New Town and the surrounding area joined master developer Urban&Civic, the Waterbeach Community Collective and St John’s Church to celebrate the start of autumn during a fun-filled afternoon of exploration and discovery.
Taking place in the new imaginative play area in Waterbeach’s Wild Woods, local children visited ten activity points with a range of ecological‑themed tasks. This included finding wildflower seeds to plant at home, bark rubbing and logging wildlife spotted along the route.
Caroline Ward, Community Development Lead for Waterbeach, said: “It was really lovely to celebrate the start of autumn and connect with nature through a series of creative and physical activities. The children had a wonderful time playing, exploring and investigating the new adventure trail in the Wild Woods.”
The changing season is a great time to explore the development as the leaves change colour and wildlife starts to migrate to warmer climes or prepare for hibernation as the weather gets colder. There are a range of walks and play areas to enjoy within the new development, with parking in the Travel Hub and coffee and cake available at The Brew&Basket.
