Colourful bank holiday celebrations at Waterbeach

Holi Festival
During the bank holiday weekend, Waterbeach witnessed an explosion of colour and culture with events and activities to celebrate Easter and Holi. With an Easter trail, a colour run and a range of crafts and activities, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

The Easter Trail was open all weekend, with a question sheet available from the Stonebond and Cala marketing suites and the answers scattered around the lake loop and woodland areas. A chocolate treat was waiting for those who successfully completed the trail.

On Sunday 31 March, Indian Community Waterbeach organised a colour run to celebrate
Holi, the Hindu Festival of Colour. Over 130 enthusiastic participants joined in the festivities
which included Indian cuisine, a narration of the story of Holi by two Waterbeach Primary
School children, craft stalls showcasing traditional arts and a performance from a local
Indian dance group that turned into an impromptu warm-up for the runners.

Masterdeveloper for Waterbeach, Urban&Civic, also hosted a special ‘meet your
neighbours’ event for our first residents, giving them the chance to get to know each other
as they explored the lake, played some games and enjoyed some Easter treats.

Easter Weekend at Waterbeach

Fiona Reardon-Rose, Communities and Partnerships for Urban&Civic, said: “We had a
wonderful bank holiday weekend, and it was great to see so many people come together to
enjoy such diverse activities. The Easter trail and colour run provided a great opportunity to
get people out and about, enjoying the community facilities and new spaces coming forward
within the development.”
