The event is open to everyone from age 6 upwards (children aged 6-12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times).
The course makes the most of Waterbeach’s beautiful lake, with a 100m swim, a 2km bike loop and a 1.3km run. The entire route is off road, and suitable for children and complete beginners.
The Swim, Bike, Run event is a fun, informal way to give triathlon a go – you can complete as many loops of the course as you would like to, or skip out a discipline altogether.
The event will take place at Waterbeach lake, which can be accessed by bike or foot from the Denny End Road entrance to the site, or parking is available at the Sustainable Transport Hub, with the lake just a short walk away.
Fiona Reardon-Rose, Communications and Partnerships Manager for Urban&Civic said, ‘Health and wellbeing is one of the fundamental pillars of the new development, and partnering with British Triathlon and Cambridge Sports Lake Trust in this way is one of the many initiatives on site as we are work towards creating a healthy new community.
We hope that the community will be inspired by the Olympics, and feel encouraged to come and try a new sport in the beautiful setting of Waterbeach.’
For those who just wish to observe there are drinks and snacks available from the Evolve at the Lake, where you can take a seat under the canopy and watch the activity unfold.
New homes at Waterbeach are available from Cala and Stonebond. The show homes will be open to explore and find out more about how you could make living at Waterbeach a reality. Find out more about life at Waterbeach and new homes
